November 17, 2006

On Wednesday, Mirella hosted a luncheon at The Bistro at Century Center to celebrate Gianna's birth. It was a wonderful party! It was also Gigi's first official day out on the town. Mirella was very thoughtful and provided Purell wipes for the aunties to prevent the spread of germs.

What was so funny is saw almost everyone the night before at a Mondial event at A Matter of Taste. Roberto Viernes gave a wine lecture, then we had dinner with wine pairings. That was a late night. I really missed Gianna. I need to limit my time away from her for only 2 to 3 hours. Anymore than 3 hours is distressing to me.

Gianna was held by each auntie, and she was well behaved. It was so nice to introduce her to the ladies, and the lobster sandwich and lychee sorbet were delicious! Mirella also made heart-shaped cookie place holders with each person's initial. She is a fabulous hostess.

I strolled Gianna up to the restaurant in her car seat, and the valet carried her Bugaboo bassinet for me. The Bugaboo was great. Gianna could rest in her bassinet when she needed, and it also gave me a private place to change her diaper. The best thing was that the private room at The Bistro was air conditioned! It felt great to be in that very cool environment.

Last night, there was a YSL event to benefit the Hawaii Theatre. Mom came over to babysit so that I could attend. Again, I saw almost everyone from the luncheon there, too. I invited Lauren to be my guest, since I had mixed up Sid's schedule. We left the party early on, so that we could have burger's at the W. Joey, Irene, Cory, and John were there. It was a really slow night, so we got a chance to talk to everyone. The crazy thing was there was no ketchup in the kitchen! Joey actually made us some ketchup from scratch! It was really good!

This week was busy! I'm so glad to just be at home now. Baby G is officially 8 weeks old today!

Boy, what a disappointing football weekend it was! Cal lost to Arizona!!! Unbelievable!

Here is Gianna in her cheerleader outfit. We were doing cheers and singing Cal fight songs during the game. It was fun, but Cal lost! The bear next to her is from Gayle Yano. Cute, huh?

Last Friday, Nov. 10th, Sid and I went to 3660 for a Bordeaux tasting. The wines were quite nice and the food was quite good. Tomorrow, we are going to a Mondial event at the Gentry Center. Roberto will be giving a lecture, followed by dinner with wine pairings. We are lucky that we can attend these events thanks to Mom and Dad who babysit for us.

Maile called today. She just got back from Japan! Hopefully we'll get to go strolling with the babies tomorrow. Lauren is supposed to come and visit as well.

On Saturday, Peter and Michael came to visit. They brought Gianna some very cute clothes...but she'll have to wait a few months before she can fit into them.

Gianna will be 7 weeks old tomorrow! Much has happened since my last post. Gianna is definitely getting bigger. She fills the bassinet nicely now. She'll outgrow it soon. She has also filled out so that I can finally dress her up in all of her cute outfits.

News flash! I saw Gigi suck her thumb!

Gigi seems to be awake more often, but she is really good. She doesn't really cry for no reason. She's eating well, and she usually has one long sleep period 5-6 hours during the night. In the morning, she eats, then naps, but I usually feel well rested. I've also been able to start exercising again. I use my Firm DVDs to get in exercise after Gianna has breakfast. I've been able to work out every day for the last five days!

I went to my doctor's appointment today...excited to find out how things are going with me, but Dr. Li had to deliver a baby. I rescheduled for next week Thursday. That gives me another week to work out!

Last night Sid and I went to a champagne tasting at Formaggio with Roberto. Mom and Dad babysat, and we were back by 7:30 PM. On Sunday, we went to the Ala Moana party, but we also came home early, by 8:30 PM. I like having couple time with Sid, but I also don't like to be away from Gianna too long,

Today I went to see Deanne. It has been over a year since I have seen her for a haircut! She did the works today. It took three hours, but she definitely makes me feel pretty. She's also pregnant with a girl and is due in April.

November 3, 2006

Time flies! Gianna is 6 weeks old today. She also slept for 6 hours last night. She might have even slept longer, but I woke her to feed her.

Last night Sid and I went to the Custom LV party at the Louis Vuitton store in Ala Moana. We inquired about making a custom wallet for Sid, a 2-champagne bottle carrier, and a baby bottle carrier. It should be exciting to see what they come up with.

Mom and Dad babysat for us, so we also had a chance to go the the W for a burger! It was delicious! We ordered the burgers before we got there, and we were in and out of there in less than an hour. It was nice to see Irene and Joey again. There was also a new bartender named John that we met. He has four children.

After we got back at 8:30 PM, Sid left for work and Mom and Dad went home around 9 PM. Gianna and I were in bed by 10:15 PM, and she slept through the night till I woke her a little after 4 AM. I nursed her in bed, and she slept till 7 AM. I was able to get a lot of sleep.

Today we meet with the architect. Hopefully we can get started on expanding the house soon.

November 2, 2006

Yesterday was a great day for her. She was an angel! She took two long naps in the morning, and she took two naps in the afternoon. Tyra and Mason came to visit, and she was well behaved.

Last night I went out with Mirella to the DHT benefit at the DKNY store in Ala Moana. We had a nice time, and I bought a dress at the event...15% off! Baby G was being taken care of by grandma and grandpa. I am so thankful that they come to help me with the baby! Mom is amazing with Baby G. Dad actually held her last night, too.

For Halloween, Gianna had two costumes. She was Princess "Leea"...the costume I chose, but Sid had an alternate costume in store for her. He turned her into a mummy! He definitely has mad wrapping skills.
The other noteworthy event that happened is that I am using the Baby Bjorn! It is so well made. I was such a fool to buy the other slings that I have. She is currently in the Bjorn...fast asleep. It allows me to have my hands free, and it is pretty comfortable.

Oh my goodness! I forgot I had an 8 AM doctor's appointment with Dr. Li! I completely forgot!
