This evening Gianna and I attended Isabella's first birthday party. It was a huge event at the grounds of the Bishop Museum. We ate Hawaiian food and listened to the band play music. Here's Gigi with her new Bugaboo Bee. :) This was her first birthday present.

This morning Grandma, Gigi, and I went to the restaurant to have breakfast. I was so surprised to see Gianna eat almost all of Grandma's breakfast! She ate her two over easy eggs...or at least the yolk parts.

In the afternoon, we went to Mauna Lani to visit Grandauntie Amy and Granduncle John. We spent the whole day there. Gigi swam in the ocean at the Mauna Lani Beach Club. She LOVED it! For dinner, we went to the golf clubhouse. Gigi fell asleep before we even got there, so we set up a makeshift bed for her.

Today we went sightseeing, because Grandpa wanted to see some sights. Our first stop was a coffee plantation.

Not to worry, Gianna is only smelling the coffee.

All the driving and walking around tired Gianna out. She fell asleep in the minivan next to Grandma.

When we got back to the resort, we jumped into the kiddie pool. There were no other kids around, so we had it all to ourselves!

Grandma and I had some cocktails, and Gianna ate our pineapple garnishes.

This morning Grandma, Gianna, and I went to breakfast, while Papa and Grandpa went to Costco to pick up Gigi's birthday cake.

Here's Gianna enjoying some milk from her sippy cup. Now that she is officially one year old, she no longer gets to use a bottle. Bye bye Dr. Brown!

Today we all leave for the Big Island to celebrate Gianna's first birthday. Grandma and Grandpa will be using their timeshare resort for the whole week, but we'll first all spend the weekend at the Hilton Waikoloa Resort.

Gianna was crawling all over the place, so Grandma decided to just carry her.

As soon as we arrived at the Waikoloa, we changed into our swimsuits and headed for the pool.

We caught the boat to the main pool. The water was SUPER cold, but Gigi loved it anyway.

Tonight, Auntie Kay and Auntie Tomoko babysat Gianna while Papa and I went to La Mer for dinner.

Gianna had to native Japanese speakers to read to her her favorite book, Inai Inai Ba.

Gigi always has a fun time at Auntie Kay's home. Auntie has the most unique toys.

When Papa and I got to Auntie Kay's Gigi was fast asleep! Yeah for Auntie Kay and Auntie Tomoko! :)

Tonight we went over to Uncle Peter and Uncle Mike's house to have dinner and play with Pumpkin.

Here's Gigi hanging out with Pumpkin. It was really cute to see the two babies playing with each other.

Pumpkin liked kissing Gigi, so stood up to get out of "licking" range.

This morning after language class, we went up to visit Auntie Joyce and Mackenzie at their place.

Mackenzie and Gianna were grubbing on snacks.

Here's Gigi checking out Manoa's doggie bed and toys. I had to tie her dress up, because she kept getting caught up in it as she crawled around. Mackenzie can already walk!

In the evening we went to sleep over at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Gigi and Grandpa posed for this picture. Gigi is actually wearing an undershirt that I wore as a baby! Grandma actually found some of my baby clothes...amazing!

Today we went over to play with Auntie Kay at her house.

I had packed a mango, and Auntie Kay was nice enough to do the dirty work and feed Gigi.

Gianna is eating a lot more "real" food.

Here she is nibbling on some toast. I used a cookie cutter to make it into the shape of a bear. :)

For lunch, Gianna had udon noodles. She really likes feeding herself noodles.

For a snack, Gianna had watermelon. Yum!

Today we went over to Auntie Robyn's house to play, and Gigi LOVED playing with Boo, the puppy!

Boo kept trying to lick Gigi, while she tried to keep him at an arms length away from her.

Boo was persistent and finally got to lick Gigi's ear!

Gigi swatted him down, but he kept trying to get more of her.
