November 17, 2006

On Wednesday, Mirella hosted a luncheon at The Bistro at Century Center to celebrate Gianna's birth. It was a wonderful party! It was also Gigi's first official day out on the town. Mirella was very thoughtful and provided Purell wipes for the aunties to prevent the spread of germs.

What was so funny is saw almost everyone the night before at a Mondial event at A Matter of Taste. Roberto Viernes gave a wine lecture, then we had dinner with wine pairings. That was a late night. I really missed Gianna. I need to limit my time away from her for only 2 to 3 hours. Anymore than 3 hours is distressing to me.

Gianna was held by each auntie, and she was well behaved. It was so nice to introduce her to the ladies, and the lobster sandwich and lychee sorbet were delicious! Mirella also made heart-shaped cookie place holders with each person's initial. She is a fabulous hostess.

I strolled Gianna up to the restaurant in her car seat, and the valet carried her Bugaboo bassinet for me. The Bugaboo was great. Gianna could rest in her bassinet when she needed, and it also gave me a private place to change her diaper. The best thing was that the private room at The Bistro was air conditioned! It felt great to be in that very cool environment.

Last night, there was a YSL event to benefit the Hawaii Theatre. Mom came over to babysit so that I could attend. Again, I saw almost everyone from the luncheon there, too. I invited Lauren to be my guest, since I had mixed up Sid's schedule. We left the party early on, so that we could have burger's at the W. Joey, Irene, Cory, and John were there. It was a really slow night, so we got a chance to talk to everyone. The crazy thing was there was no ketchup in the kitchen! Joey actually made us some ketchup from scratch! It was really good!

This week was busy! I'm so glad to just be at home now. Baby G is officially 8 weeks old today!
